Which direction feels right?

01

New gutters

Discuss the proposed layout, downspouts, and where water will discharge.

02

Gutter guards

Compare the debris the product is designed for and how it will be maintained.

03

Repair or replacement

Ask someone to assess the existing system before deciding what to keep.

BEFORE YOU GET STARTED

Bring a few good questions.

  • Where do you notice overflow or water collecting?
  • What kinds of leaves or debris are common around the home?
  • How will the system be accessed for future inspection and cleaning?

These prompts help define a conversation. An on-site assessment and a written provider proposal determine what your project actually needs.

A little more clarity.

Are gutter guards maintenance-free?

Do not assume so. Ask for the manufacturer’s maintenance instructions and what cleaning is excluded from the installer’s service.

Can guards fix every gutter problem?

Guards address debris entry; they are not a substitute for evaluating gutter condition, drainage, or downspout layout. Ask the installer to identify the cause of a problem first.
